Expert Hygiene Advice for Life Long Healthy Teeth
At The Riley Dental Studio, we offer expert guidance on the tools and techniques needed to maintain fresh breath and healthy, clean teeth. By combining the skill and care of our hygiene team with your daily oral hygiene routines, you can ensure that your teeth and gums remain in healthy for life.
Preventative Care: Reducing the Risk of Dental Issues
Did you know that 90% of the dental work we do is preventable? By working with our hygienists, we can help you avoid many dental diseases before they even start. Plaque is the primary enemy of dental health, and our hygienists will assess your home care routine, remove hardened plaque, and teach you the essential skills, tools, and techniques needed to effectively remove and control plaque from every tooth surface every day. This leads to healthier gums, fewer fillings, and overall better health and better heart and organ health.
Good dental health lowers your risk of future dental pain, keeps your breath fresh, enhances the appearance of your smile, and reduces the chances of losing teeth. It also supports better overall health. For many patients, seeing a hygienist regularly is just as important—if not more important—than seeing a dentist, as hygienists help to maintain long-term dental health and prevent the need for future treatments.

Non-Registered Patient Hygiene Visits
You don’t need to be a registered patient at The Riley Dental Studio to take advantage of our hygiene treatments. We offer Direct Access to our hygiene services, meaning you can book an appointment at any time. As a Direct Access patient, you’ll receive the same high-quality, caring, and professional service as all of our registered patients.
Simply get in touch with our reception team to discuss your needs, and we’ll advise you on the best treatments to help you achieve your healthiest smile.

Gum Disease Awareness
At The Riley Dental Studio, our hygienists and hygiene therapists may ask you to review important information regarding gum disease, as it affects most adults in the UK to some degree. While it is less common in children, gum disease can still occur at any age.
Symptoms of Gum Disease:
- Gums that bleed when brushing, flossing, or eating hard foods like apples
- Gums that appear swollen, red, and sore
If left untreated, gum disease can lead to:
- Bad breath and a persistent bad taste in the mouth
- Shrinking gums
- Loose or lost teeth
Our team is here to help guide you through the process of reducing your risk of gum disease. We’ll provide you with the right tools and techniques to maintain optimal oral health and prevent further issues.
